Geocache Description:

A quick p&g in a beautiful forested area with woodland walks. Peigs "Bend in the River" has a near neighbour.

The Colligan River flows through a narrow forested valley on its way to meet the sea in Dungarvan. It is a salmon spawining river and contains brown trout also. Coillte have done an amazing job on the forest, and there are woodland trails of different levels of challenge to pass away a frew hours when you and the family have a day free. It really is a gem of a place. The bridge has featured in my wedding photos and is the start, and end points for all the trails. It is now possible to park in the car park and do a circular route which takes about 45 minutes.
This cache is placed on Coillte Lands, and they have a worthy policy called "Leave no Trace" I have provided a link to this. Please abide by it.
The cache is a small tupperwear box with a logbook, pencil a few trinkets, a ftf badge for the first to retrieve and there are 2TBS present as well.

You must go under the bridge, (follow the railing in pic, above), to access this route, do not cross over the bridge but use the gap in the wall between the carpark and the bridge entrance itself. This is not wheelchair friendly, nor would i advise attempting a night find. Mobile reception is poor. It is an ideal cache hunt for a family. It is located away from where muggles can spot you, but do check across the river, as there is a trail there and you may be spotted. Minimum discretion.
You are close to the rivers edge also, and even though there is a small "rabbit-trail" to the cache location, care should be taken. Watch the wee ones. In wet weather, you may need a pair of boots. You do not need to climb to retrieve, and please return cache as you found it.
The most important thing is to have fun, and come home dry and with a smiley.
