NEW CROSS THE OLD TOLL HOUSE Placed at strategic places along the travel routes Toll Houses and booths collected money from passing traffic used for the upkeep of the roads - a variety of fees for pedestrians, horses, and vehicles as is displayed here. Built in 1824 this now stands on an open corner with a large crossing controlled by traffic lights. Suggested parking in nearby side streets. There is a large school nearby PLEASE try to avoid collecting this cache when the pupils are around.
