Another in a series of caches along the Shannon trail. Visit the Welcome center to say hi, use the rest room or enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee.
Private Shannon, the youngest member of the Corps of Discovery Expedition, got seperated from the rest of the group while searching for lost horses downstream near Goat Island, and searched for the group for 16 days b/f being re-united up river many miles in now-a-days Gregory county. The Shannon trail commemorates his heroic adventure! This cache is a hidden ammo can fairly close to a well used trail ,so it is diguised to fool muggles!
