Meet the DizFiz Fan Club! Reno Vice President Traditional Cache

This series of caches has been placed to allow geocachers the opportunity to meet the most dedicated and hardest working members of any fanclub in the world, the DIZFIZ Fan Club! The DizFiz Fan Club was created to celebrate the awesome sauce of one of the greatest geocachers in the game today. DizFiz would not hold the legend status that he does if it wasn't for the support and love that he's received from his fan club members. Now its time for each of those faithful members to receive some of the credit they deserve by introducing themselves. 

Hello everyone, thank you so much for taking the time to read my DizFiz Fan Club bio. I feel so honored to be a part of this club, and to be working under two amazing leaders, both here in Reno and Yuma.

Much like our president I caught the "DizFiz" bug not too long after I started caching. I began doing the infamous McCarran Donut Hole Challenge, and couldn't believe that on every cache I found that Diz's name was already there in that glorious red sharpie. Then I realize that while this challenge was taking me months and months to complete, Diz had done it in only a matter of weeks. I was truly humbled and knew this was someone I had to meet. Luckily I have had not only one, but two chances to meet my hero, and I cherish each equally. 

The first time I met DizFiz was on a caching trip out in the hills. I was exhausted and couldn't walk a step further. I was taking a break on a rock when I heard a low rumbling and saw a smoke cloud that got closer and louder. As it approached I had a hunch as to who it might be and thought that this might finally be the moment that I would be blessed with an encounter of the Diz kind. Sure enough out of a big black truck jumped my idol himself. Before I could speak he ran over, found the cache, logged it in red, grabbed my camera from me, took a pic, and then hopped back in his truck. All I could hear was Bob Marley on the radio, and Diz yell "LATER WEAKSAUCE" as he drove off. It was one of the most glorious things I have ever witnessed. 

My second encounter was a life changing moment for my entire family. I was at a family reunion when who comes walking through our yard but DizFiz! My dad immediately knew who it was since he had seen all the pictures on my bedroom wall. As I was completely star struck, my dad had the presence of mind to ask for a picture. Diz was nice enough to stop, throw each of us a cold PBR, and take a picture with the family. Diz then walked over and logged an FTF in my own backyard! To this day that picture is still framed hanging above the fireplace in our family home. Each xmas we gather around and sing carols and each member of our family shares one thing that they love about DizFiz. The hardest thing each year is narrowing it down to one!! 

I would like to thank DizFiz for showing me the true meaning of this hobby, and I hope that through hard work and dedication that I too someday may achieve the level of success that he has enjoyed.
