Geocache Description:

A small cache located adjacent to the entrance of the station in an easy to find location, watch out for muggles at peak times. Please replace as found.

Flowery Field railway station serves the Flowery Field area of Hyde, Greater Manchester.

The name "HYDE" is derived from the hide, a measure of land for taxation purposes, taken to be that area of land necessary to support a peasant family. In later times it was taken to be equivalent to 120 acres

The station is 7 miles (11 km) east of Manchester Piccadilly on the Manchester-Glossop Line. The next station along to Guide Bridge. The two platform, wooden structure station was opened in 1985 The station is managed by Northern Rail.
