Good•Friday Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hemlock: Since the cache was in a closed area, it has been removed and is in the care of stormchaser13. They will hide it somewhere else nearby soon.

From an email to me:
We found the cache this afternoon and had just opened it up and were signing the log book, when a California State Park policeman approached us and asked us what we were doing. He was very nice, having known about Geocaching, but told us to remove the cache since it was in a "closed area" not open to the public. Not only was the cache buried directly in front of a sign which says "closed", but sometime since the cache was buried, a rope cable has been placed around a large area surrounding the cache site, clearly indicating that it was an area where people are not supposed to walk since the dunes are being restored.
Geocache Description:

Planted this on Good Friday at a place appropriate for the day. While your here - learn some history about the early explorers of the Monterey Bay at the Portolá Crespi Monument.

Plan to get some sand under your fingernails - its deep enough that you probably can't poke it - feel free to poke though =) There are two ways via the beach (North or South) and eventually there will be a third - easiest way - after construction is through. Container is a 2qt Rubbermaid Jar - sturdy enough to take a little beating.I'd rather you decode clue then tear up too much of this area - use good judgement.

Hope this Friday is good for you...
T.I.
