Geocache Description:

cache is placed a short distance from the site of the old Kanumbra rail station. there is a small parking area at side of road. cache can be found from the roadside or from the rail trail. as usual keep an eye open for snakes. nano. byo writer.

Kanumbra was a rail stop on the Tallarook to Mansfield line, opened in 1890. Last passengers carried on 28th May 1977. The Goulburn River High Country Rail Trail is the longest continuous rail trail in Australia, 134 km. Rail trail was opened iin June 2012.
