Geocache Description:

Dearly beloved Pastafarians, we are gathered together here in the sign of His Noodly Appendage… Ramen!

… oooh wait, this event is not to celebrate pirates and global warming or the spaghetti and meatballs I cooked last night, but now that I started the speech let's gather anyway for some food, drink and geochat.

We could get together and celebrate the birthday of my goldfish, he just turned 1 year old, or we could get together and celebrate the fact that I got out of bed today or maybe just celebrate the fact that I am so awesome… I could go on forever.

Then again we could just get together and celebrate carnigrewal’s milestone: 1000 days of geocaching!!!

Anyone in the Golden Horseshoe Region, and even beyond, knows the Brown Guy Hunting. He started caching on June 1st, 2010 by finding his first cache. Only 4 days later, on June 5th, his first cache hide was published, with a very common issue, one that most new cachers encounter… wacky coordinates, but only by a meager 4000 ft... bad Carni did not read the guidelines where it says “You must visit the cache location and obtain the coordinates with a GPS device.”… however, he learned very fast that an iPhone is not a GPS device. Time went by fast and the hides kept coming, but once UPB was introduced on August 22nd, 2011, the simple hides slowly started changing to daunting wacky puzzle caches and high terrain difficulties.

Carni soon became known for hiding caches up the trees, higher and higher every time. I don’t think that there is a single climbable tree left in the whole area. Also the escarpment became one of his favourite place to hide caches too and i think everyone that has attempted them will have some interesting stories to share about their adventure. I can personally contribute some bumps and bruises.

Carni also created various challenges that have inspired many cachers to push their limits, and once they completed them they not only could claim a smilie but were left with lasting memories of great times and achievements.

Only 47 days after his first find and after saying he will keep on caching, on July 17th, 2010, he started his geocaching streak. I can’t even be bothered to count to 1000, let alone get out there and grab a cache rain or shine, snow or freezing temperatures… We personally made it to 580 days and can attest to the commitment and dedication it takes to keep it up… Now mind you, we are not teachers, we are working in 8 a.m. to whenever p.m. jobs.

In a little under 3 years he has managed to hide a whopping 287 caches and he has fully committed to maintaining those caches, if one has an issue it will not be long before is fixed and ready for the next cacher.

Now he is not all perfect though and we found that he has a bit of a fetish for ammo cans, mostly other people’s ammo cans, or maybe it's just something personal against us, but we still consider him a friend.

This event is our way of saying “thank you for enriching our caching experience and being such a prominent member of our caching community”… Don’t ever think about moving, if you do you will need to get our permission to do so.
