Part of the Wairarapa's historic infrastructure.
Over 120 years ago the early settlers in the Wairarapa had the foresight to construct a series of water races covering much of the Wairarapa basin to provide farmers with water for stock and other uses. The Featherston area has the Longwood Water Race drawing water from the Tauherenikau river while Greytown's Moroa Water Race gets its flow from the Waiohine River. The Moroa water race has 8 separate branches passing through Greytown and at gz one of these branches further divides into two sub branches.
To the north, the sub branch runs parallel to Kuratawhiti St, passes underground through Soldiers Reserve, then emerges at the children's playground before travelling through O'Connor's bush and under West St. To the south the sub branch travells behind Kuratawhiti St properties and comes out in the new West wood subdivision.
Please use either stealth or look "official" when recovering and replacing the cache. Please ensure the cache is replaced out of sight.
