Early Settlers Museum if Greytown
The Cobblestones Regional Early Settlers Museum is located in Greytown on the original site of the stables operated by Cobb & Co and the Hastwells to provide a mail and passenger service between Wellington and the Wairarapa from 1866. The museum's name comes from the well preserved cobblestone courtyard at the entrance and inside the Hastwell Stables.
Shifted to the museum are a collection of historic buildings from the 1860s including houses, a early hospital, church and school.
The museum also has a collection of historic horse drawn vehicles, gigs and traps including "the Pride of the Valley' Cobb & Co Coach" built in 1906 and used twice a day as the Martinborough to Featherston railway link until it was replaced by motorbuses.
PLease use stealth when removing and replacing the log.
