Geocache Description:

I found this spot while on my way from one cache to another. It doesn't seem to be a very heavily traveled road, one indication being is that it's not paved.



The sign piqued my interest as I was driving by and attempted to find out information about it from the "powers that be" but the information wasn't forthcoming. It didn't seem to be that the representative of the leader of the area of Area 9 was trying to hide anything; he obviously hadn't made much of an effort but I didn't want to push my luck.

It appears to be abandoned as far as its original use, and is now a cornfield. The gate is padlocked, yet one can walk around the edge of the fence mere meters away. Now, that's security, Canadian style!

If you have any idea what Area 9 really is, please mention it in your post. Many thanks to jarbitz (log date 06/14/13) for his informative log. I wonder if the land is being rented to farmers since it's obviously no longer being used in its original capacity.
