Geocache Description:

On a footpath beside the golf course -at a distance from the toll booth to avoid a puzzle cache .

THE OLD TOLL BOOTH LITTLE HALDON Now known as The Old Toll Hut,Higher Exeter Road. We have lived in Teignmouth for 12 years going up and down this road frequently and not noticed this remarkable structure! Go slowly past Hi Heather which has a gateway on your left coming up the hill from Teignmouth (9245 7537) and look RIGHT and it is there .(Even knowing it was there it took us three goes to spot it!) Built in 1823 for the Teignmouth and Dawlish Turnpike Trust this simple booth is now Grade II listed. All that can be easily seen is a solidly constructed arched entrance with soil bank built up around it. Inside there is a rectangular floor and a barrel roof. The cache is placed on a footpath(which can be muddy)off the main road.DO NOT attempt to reach this cache direct from the road. Parking is available at N50.34.069 W 003.31.316 where two cars can be off the road keeping clear of the gateways.From here cross the road towards the golf club and walk up the right hand road to find the footpath start then about a five minute walk can be muddy in places. Please be aware that traffic comes round the corner rather fast- keep children and animals under control.
