Please put the cache container back exactly where you found it. It's quite easy for muggles to find it, so we need to be careful!
You will have to duck under the rope to get to it. This rope will be removed again after planting the place, not sure when that will be.
The library of Lisdoonvarna must be the smallest in the world. It consists of exactly what you can see in the picture. And yet, Lisdoonvarna Public Library has a stock of over 3,200 books for adults, and 3,300 books for children. There is a free public access internet PC also. It is situated in the old Iron and Magnesia Pump Room and incorporates a tiny public park. An information board gives you a wonderful historical insight and photos.
The library at GZ open on Wednesdays 10am-1pm + 1.30-5.30pm as well as on Thursdays 10am-2pm + 2.30-7pm.. (Info current July 2023)
Lisdoonvarna developed into a tourist centre as early as the mid 18th century when the beneficial effects of its mineral waters were discovered. People travelled from near and far to bathe in and drink the mineral waters which are rich in iron, sulphur, magnesium and calcium and were said to provide relief for certain diseases. It was because of the popularity of these mineral springs and the huge amount of people coming here that led to the Lisdoonvarna "matchmaking tradition". The tradition is still celebrated with a festival held in its honour throughout the month of September.
