Given this I have decided to archive and put a new hide out or open up the space for someone else. I will update the stats one final time, but we all know Star Wars is the winner!! Geocache Description:

I want to find out which is more popular, Star Wars or Star Trek!!

I have been to a lot of geocaching events and there are often discussions about two science fiction institutions, Star Wars and Star Trek.  Fans of these series are very passionate and often have a definite favorite.

This cache is super easy to find and easily accessible by all.  This cache is easy to find for a reason as I want to take an informal poll of geocachers to see which of these two science fiction institutions is more popular.  

When you log your "found" log for this cache, PLEASE include your vote in your log for either Star Wars or Star Trek.  I will tally the results from time-to-time so that we can see who is leading the vote.

Here are the contenders:

Star Wars - This movie franchise started in 1977 and has remained popular since then. The original trilogy were released between 1977 and 1983. The series was resurrected with a three-movie prequel between 1999 and 2005. On top of the movies there are comics, TV shows, toys, and a multitude of other products that have kept this franchise alive for over 3 decades, and the popularity is sure to continue with the 2012 sale of Star Wars to Disney who has already announced plans for three more movies! May the force be with you!!

Star Trek - Began in 1966 as a television series. From there it expanded into 5 additional television series and 11 movies with a 12th movie coming in 2013. It too has resulted in a tremendous amount of merchandise and spin-offs and is known around the globe. Live long and prosper!!
