Treasured memories of our past.
TO FORGET ONES ANCESTORS IS TO BE A BROOK WITHOUT A SOURCE, A TREE WITHOUT A ROOT.
[Chinese proverb].
This cache is placed at the end of the street on which this church stands.
The Dunn Methodist Church was opened in 1884.
It was built Gothic style and the furnishings inside plus the organ were gifted to the Church by J Dunn Snr a local flour Miller.
Jane Dunn his wife laid the foundation stone on the 4th March 1884.
On a sunny 3rd day of May 1952, the sun was shining brightly as the Cheeky young lad (Pop) and the Pretty young lass (Mum) exchanged wedding vows.
Walking down one ailse and back down the other passed family and a crowd of local well wishers who had come to see the happy couple /> The reception was held in the hall next door and food supplied by the local ladies of the church.
They honeymooned in Inneston on the York Penninsular where The Cheeky young Lad [Pop] lived during the 2nd World War.
We have placed a cache there called 'The Honeymoon Cottage'
To mark the occassion of their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
Please bring your own writing implement and tweezers may be required.
WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE PLACE CACHE BACK IN AWAY THAT IT WILL STAY HIDDEN FROM SIGHT
THERE IS A RIGHT WAY AND A WRONG WAY FOR IT TO BE HIDDEN
