A quick cache and dash located near Bangor's latest tourist attraction - the barley fields and tree where the global pop star Rihanna filmed her video for We Found Love. Layby parking is available nearby.
History
In September 2011, Rihanna mania came to Northern Ireland when the pop star swapped her normally glamorous surroundings for the bucolic backdrop of rolling barley fields near Bangor, Co Down. She was shooting her new video 'We Found Love' ahead of three concerts which she was performing at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast. Traffic practically ground to a halt near Ballyrobert as passing drivers strained to get a glimpse of the singer and her cavalcade. Hundreds of people also gathered by the roadside to watch the impromptu performance with many using their camera phones to record the event for posterity.
What also made the news is that while the video was being filmed, the landowner pulled up in his tractor and told the singer to 'cover up'.
Ground Zero
The cache is located in public area along the A2 Belfast Road, Bangor. While the rolling barley fields and 'that tree' where the music video was filmed are on private property, from GZ you will get a great view of same.
The Cache
The cache is a small screwtop container with room for a few small travelbugs and swaps.
