The home at no 11 Stephenson st across from this cache was built by our Pop with the help of his family.
The stone work at the back and front of the house took pride of place.
Our parents told of the time when living in the shed at the side of the property they would sit and chip away at the stone to smooth it to get the appearance that it has today.
After the hard work Our Grandfather 'Clarry' would cement them together to make the walls
They lived in the shed and in 1953 they bought home twin daughters[ourselves].
The house was completed in 1955 and they moved in when they bought home their 3rd daughter(Jilleanne).
At this time Mum was almost 22 and Pop 23 yrs of age.
We wonder how many 22 year olds of today would have built a home and had 3 children at this age. The current owner of the home has done a wonderful job of restoring it to it's former glory.
He graceously showed us through just prior to Pop's passing on the 4th Feb 2013.
Pop enjoyed discussing the work that he and the current owner had put into building and restoring this home.
