Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the “Downtown / Main Street USA" series. Please visit the cache that started it all - Downtown / Main Street USA: Edison, NJ.

This is the first "Downtown/ Main St. USA" cache in Connecticut! More than 210 years ago the area that is now Watertown belonged to the local Paugasuck Indians. But in 1684, Thomas Judd and 35 other proprietors bought the land from the Indians and Town history began. Around 1700, Obadiah Richards settled in the area of Upper Middlebury Road, and John Scott on Nova Scotia Hill Road.By 1710 they both had left for safer places. In 1729 a family named Garnsey settled in the section now called Guernseytown. Built in 1735, the Belden saltbox house on lower Main Street is the oldest house in Watertown. This cache will take you to one of the many places where cars fill up for gas in Watertown, Connecticut, in the WATERTOWN MAIN ST. SECTION.

Please use you geo-steath skills to find this one, and always know to not go too close to the road. (Even though the cache is very far from the road.) Also, muggles pumping gas and muggles driving will be watching you! Permission to place this cache was granted by store representative.

*The difficulty is only a 2 because of muggles.
