Welcome to Prosper, ND!

Prosper is an unincorporated community in Cass County, ND. Its highest population during its existence was 85. This was a Great Northern Railroad townsite platted in 1911 in the north half of section 8-140-50, Raymond Township about six miles north-northeast of Mapleton. A post office was established February 26, 1913 with Henry L. Hanson as Postmaster. Great Northern Railroad officials or local settlers were responsible for the name which notes the prosperous farms in the area. The elevation is 904, and a population of about 50 has been here during most of its existence. Albert H. Waa became Postmaster in 1927 and served until the post office closed April 5, 1968 with mail to Harwood.
