Dead Man's Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Decer: It is time that I am going to take this one down. No particular reason other than I am in a low for caching (but far from out). Would rather open up the area for someone else, or when the time comes put something out a bit more interesting than a micro in a tree for future visitors. Thanks everyone that took the time to visit this one over the years.

Geocache Description:

Cache is along a stretch of tow path between Hugh Moore Park and the Fish Ladder.  While your here check out all the other caches in the "Geo Park".

Once upon a time, there was a cache in this general area (DeLightful Canal--LVGGP) that was part of the Geo Park that CO's from the area put together.  Overtime though many things happened, new trail pavement..  excessive weed cleaning and the original cache disappeared, due to the containers uniqueness it wasn't able to be reproduced and had to be archived.  So a special thank you to ArubaXpress for putting that one out and letting us enjoy it.

Since then this area has remained open and is just begging for a new shot.  It is not in the same spot as the previously mentioned cache, but hopefully you enjoy it just the same!

There are several ways you attack this cache, and each cacher will need to make that decision as they come to it.  I have provided two waypoints for trailheads.  There is a "lower" trail that runs between the Lehigh River and the tow path, you will eventually want to be on that trail.  You can enter it right from the parking lot (trail waypoint 1), or follow the tow path to the connecting trail (trail waypoint 2), your last option is to just take the hill head on closer to the cache.  Anyway you do this please beware of the terrain, the lower trail can be sketchy at times and the hill down to the cache is steep and if wet could be dangerous.

This should be around a 1 mile round trip (maybe closer to 1.5), but come down with a lunch and a bunch of friends and do the entire Geo Park while your here, the original CO's put a great deal of time into the area and should provide an entire day of fun!

Cache is available 24/7 but the listed parking cords are not. If you attempt this after hours please find an alternate parking location that allows you access to the trail and doesn't break an hour rules of the parks.
