For many, many years, the area below the tree line regularly teemed with children. When I was young it was one of the best sled riding hills around; on a good day you could soar from the just below the trees all the way down to Church Street! Decades before, though, at the bottom of the eventual sledding hill, resided Washington School where, for a period of time, my own great-grandmother taught.
This is a kids cache through and through, but that's kids of all ages!
I believe there are a few different entry points to get to this cache but I used the path from my sledding days. Be mindful of muggles both large and small as well as their occasional four legged friends. During most of the year this area can harbor waist high foliage. During the winter months the weeds/grasses/etc are generally held down by the snow but this can make for some unsure footing. I've also discovered that this place can get very muddy at times. No matter the reason, please tread lightly! Congrats to Lemaymom and RN escape for the combo FTF! Edited to add: I've adjusted the the degree of difficulty, and the terrain type so that they're more accurate. (Mud was a big problem in 2014!) Happy caching!
