On Saturday, 4th May 2013 geocachers around the world will gather to participate in a World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM)
In Kelowna we will be meeting 1:00pm at Stuart Park. This event lasts just 15 minutes so arrive early and try to look natural. Do not proceed directly to the posted coordinates, but don't be too far away either. Do not gather with other geocachers. In fact, ignore them. Check out the scenery, take some pictures, read a book, whatever you like.
At exactly 1:00 (according to Canada4Life's GPS) a cache will be placed at the posted coordinates. Geocachers should proceed to the posted coordinates and "search" for the cache. Follow your GPS. Circle around. Look under things. Do whatever you would normally do when searching for an urban cache. With one exception, do not be stealthy. We want the muggles to wonder what's going on. If anyone asks, feel free to tell them about geocaching.
At 1:05 someone should find the cache. The first to find must shout "found it"! At that point all geocachers should converge on the cache and sign the logbook. To speed things along you may wish to bring a piece of paper with your cacher name on it to just drop into the cache, or better yet, a signature item. This is also the time to trade swag or trackables.
Once everyone has signed the logbook a group picture will be taken with the cache.
At exactly 1:15 (again, according to Canada4Life's GPS) the event is over. All geocachers are asked to leave the area. You may want to head out caching with others from the event. Don't be late! Anyone arriving at 1:16 hoping to attend will miss out.
