This property is a conservation restricted 38 acres managed by The Greater Worcester Land Trust. This is an example of a rare black oak savannah, a lightly forested grassland maintained by fire (wild or otherwise), grazing, low precipitation or poor soil. This area may also be defined as an early-successional habitat. This type of habitat consists of a well developed ground cover or shrub and young tree component, lack of a closed mature tree canopy, and are created or maintained by intense or recurring disturbances. These habitats are important to many species of flora and fauna. Those found here include several of conservation concern including Eastern Towhee, Brown Thrasher and the Savannah Sparrow.

For a direct trail to the top go straight after crossing the brook. For a nice walk, go right and stay straight until you pass the second pond. This will loop you around to the back of the hill. Grab the cache and continue up and straight down for the loop.
Maps are being added regularly for the GWLT properties. Please check out
