This cache is placed in memory of a fellow cacher's dog, Tiger.
Tiger was diagnosed with Cancer this past week and within days, had deteriorated so quickly that the time came to have him put to sleep.
Raven Art Studio helped me find a peaceful, dog friendly knoll to place a cache in her pup's memory, and in memory of all our lost pets who wait for us on grassy meadows with ice cream trees and piles of toys on the 'other side'.
Walk a bit north from the obvious parking area to walk around the fence. Follow the path up the gentle slope to overlook a corral, an intermittent stream and a large water tank. From here, I imagine Tiger could watch the snow and rain and stars fall, hikers and jeeps traveling by, sunny skies, and monsoon storms a brewing. There's a nice view, a shady tree, and peace.
The cache contains all sorts of dog and cat related items. It also contains a small photo album. Feel free to bring photos of your long lost pets to place in the album: cats, dogs, fish, birds, whatever.
Thanks to all those pets who bring so much joy to our lives, who don't let us know when they suffer, who greet us with pure love, hide our socks, and steal our fries! When you log your find online, feel free to write about your own pets, long lost or those still here, and add their photos if you wish.
I am glad I had the opportunity to share some time with Tiger, camping, caching, and hiking together. Linda and I took all three of our dogs together to training, and all three passed their Canine Good Citizen tests with flying colors. Tiger, and Wizard, were with Linda at her 2000th find back in January.
Tiger was a good dog, and a total cutie. Rest in Peace, Tiger.
I allowed Raven Art Studio the honor of signing the log first as I placed this cache today.
