I remember back in 2004 just a month after my grandpa passed away at the age of 85 when I sat down here at this very same spot looking at the lake while waiting for my parents come and meet me in order to go to the nearby church for my grandfather’s first mass.
I sat down here to remember all the wonderful moments that he and I spent together, since he was my only dad as I was growing up. I remember with a little bit of a mixture of sadness and happiness all the moments from the very first time that I rode a horse at the ranches, to the last time I heard his voice over the phone.
He was a great man that decided to take the time to teach me his wisdom, to guide me on the right path in life. I remember him as my companion of many adventures in my life, and today as I am sitting back down on the very same bench I look at my son, my little companion that he never got to meet in life and I feel proud to say that his teachings are every day passing on to him as I remembered them being passed on to me.
Today I sat back down here to remember a great man that every day comes with me on spirit accompanying me on this great adventure that I call life.
