To log or not to log... Traditional Cache
blackdogsMT: Out doing yearly maintenance and find that this one is again missing. I think 4 years is a good run so I'll open the spot up for anyone else to use by archiving this one.

The area in where I hid this geocache was where Plum Creek would pile up it's "scrap logs". Locals would come and cut up the wood as fire wood and haul it off. It was a nice little "perk" that Plum Creek offered it's locals.
**You do not need to cross the fence!!!
Plum Creek has now become a "ghost town". June of 2009 Pablo Plum Creek officially closed it's doors. Plum Creek employeed hundreds of men/women over the years and was one of the top paying employers. Due to this business closing it's doors caused a trickle effect on many other businesses. For example it used substantial amounts of electricity which effected Mission Valley Power. MVP in return had to down size their employment as well.
This place haunts me a little. My husband was employeed by Plum Creek. Steve and I drove by it the other day and he can't get over how bare it looks. It holds a lot of memories for him. He is suprised by all the new little trees that are growing in the lumber yard. My husband was one of the last men to be laid off and as an act of symbolism many of the last men/women hung their hard hats on the fence as to say "work is over". It was a powerful visual and the pictures filled the papers with the last articles written about this large employer. A special thank you to Stef Nordberg for providing the photos.
