Geocache Description:

GAGB10 logo

Saturday 1st June 2013 (10am to 3pm)

This is just one of the many events being held across the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands as part of the GAGB 10th anniversary weekend celebrations.

We will be meeting at Littlemoor Meadows at the above coordinates - please come to the gazebo at the above coordinates to sign in upon arrival.

A Family Friendly CITO & BYO Picnic Event, organised by my family and I, with the Dorset Wildlife Trust.

We will be helping clear areas of litter and rubbish for the Dorset Wildlife Trust - You can drop in for half an hour or more sometime between 10am - 3pm.

We will be pausing for a Bring your own picnic lunch between 12-1pm.
We will have some other activities going on, including some Willow Weaving activities, and there are plenty of existing caches nearby: there will be something suitable for all ages abilities.

Refreshments will be available for all participants with Grateful thanks to Dorset Wildlife Trust.
It will be helpful for the Dorset Wildlife Trust if you could log a 'Will Attend' if you plan on coming to help with arranging refreshments.

Parking
Waypoint 1
This is the main car parking area where there are plenty of spaces for parking. This is right next to the field entrance, so you will not have to walk far to the meeting point.

Waypoint 2 - This will be reserved for Disabled Blue Badge holders only - please leave these spaces for wheelchair users and those who can not walk very far as there are only a few spaces.

What are we doing?
We will be clearing up around the reserve at Littlemoor Meadow.

Accessability and Areas we are clearing

The event has been rated a D1/T1 to represent that the event is accessaible for wheelchair users. However, as the terrain changes within the area we are helping clear, we have separated into 3 zones, ensuring accessability for all ages and abilities:

Zone 1
This will be a D1/T1 and fully wheelchair accessible. There will be a couple of helping hands / litter pickers available for wheelchair users, however, if you have your own that you are willing to use, please do bring them along.

Zone 2
This will be a T2 - more uneven ground, and on a gentle slope.

Zone 3
This is more like a T3 and for those who are confident on uneven ground and on a steep slope.

On the day
Please can all participants sign in upon arrival, as requested by the Land Owner for safety reasons, indicating how many adults and children are included in each Caching name?

I will be at the gazebo, next to the above coordinates to welcome you with the log book where you can sign in. All those who participate and sign the log will be entered into a free prize draw to win a CITO Geocoin, please add each persons name and caching name on one of the small pieces of paper.

The event will start at 10am, where there will be a short introduction by the Dorset Wildlife Trust.

You will have the opportunity following this to volunteer which Zone you would like to help in.

There will be bags provided, and some gloves, but please do bring your own gloves / helping hand grabbers if you have them.

Health & Safety
Please do not work alone
If you find something sharp - alert one of the members of DWT or myself - do not touch it yourself
If you don't like the look of it - don't touch it!
Do not try to lift any heavy objects on your own!
If you need help - just ask

Collin French and other hosts from the UK Geocaching Podcast Show are hoping to join us on the day, giving you the chance to meet them and share your experience of the 10th Anniversary of the Geocaching Association of Great Britain (GAGB)

I would like to thank the GAGB, Dorset Wildlife Trust, the reviewers, DorsetGal & GeoDog and all those who have helped support us in arranging and participating in this event on the day - Thank you
