"SPECIAL EEL EVENT" ~ ENVIRONMENTALLY ENDANGERED LANDS

|
We could really use your help at the Scottsmoor Flatwoods Sanctuary on March 30th for a special EEL project. Our objective will be a combination of CITO & GOPHER TORTOISE assessment. In addition to picking up trash we will be instructed by the folks at EEL on how to identify active Gopher Tortoise dens. Our findings will aid Brevard Parks in proper management of these very special habitats. This is a unique request from EEL and we hope to get some help from cachers in the Northern end of the county and Volusia for this event.
We'll gather the posted coords for Parrish Park off Magoon Ave at 9:00 a.m. and work for about 3 hours. Water will be available but you might want to bring extra as it could be hot out there. Bring gloves and your GPS for waymarking locations of the turtle dens....more on this later. When we're done we'll cook up some hot dogs under the pavillion and share a few stories. We look forward to seeing you there.
