Hike on the top of Monte Cofano
This cache is placed near the summit of Monte Cofano. To reach it you have to climb the mountain.
Warning !! Warning !! Warning !! Warning !!
Don't climb a mountain if you are not able to do it! Better to skip a cache than to lose your live!
Don't walk if it is foggy!
Start at N 38°06.314 E 012°41.367, here you can park your car. From here follow the signs to Bagni Cofano. You pass a Christian wayside shrine at N 38°06.222 E 012°41.188. The box inside is !! not !! a cache container. It is more or less holy geocaching: You can write a note to Jesus if you want to.
After some walk along the easy to find path, you find a circular depression filled with rain water at N 38°06.208 E 012°40.640.
At N 38°06.202 E 012°40.592 you chose the right path at the junction, that one with goes up-hill. After a while the way starts to get pathless and is not so easy to find. You have to manage climbing difficulty 1 (UIAA). You find a fixed rope. After a short climbing passage with difficulty 2 (UIAA), the way gets easier again but never the less not easy to find.
The mountain top is reached at N 38°06.364 E 012°40.036. What you find there is also !!!! not !!!! the cache container - it's the summit book!
The final: N 38°06.332 E 012°40.161. It is a little glass bottle. Don’t forget a pen.
