St Georges Burial Ground was used from 1846 until 1872. During this time over 1000 people were buried here.
During the mid-20th century the cemetery was levelled and Albuera St Primary School was built on the site. In recent years building works at the school unearthed skeletal remains, monuments and headstones.
These headstones now form part of a new gabion wall.
