This cache is set in Jock's Burn, in the area where the Laigh, or Low, Mill was situated. It is family friendly but not wheelchair accessible. Don't be discouraged by the houses on the road down to this cache as this is a public walkway in Jock's Burn. I received a complaint about cars driving down this road so it's recommended to park at Aldi, everything is fine as long as your responsible when caching here.

The Laigh, or low, Mill in Carluke was a watermill, which stood on Jock's Burn, near Stark's Bridge,(The bridge between Sheildhill Road, and Orchard Street, on Lanark Road) was in use until the 1940's. During the second world war it was used to ground peanuts for oil. However, after WWII the kiln's from High Mill were moved to Laigh Mill, they were used to produce animal foodstuffs, and oatmeal, in cooperation with Garrion Mill.

Stark's Bridge was thus called because the Burnside Sawmill, started by Mr. Andrew Stark, stood on the other side of the bridge from Laigh Mill.
The Cache is only a short walk from Stark's Bridge, walk down to the end of Orchard Street where the road hairpins to the left and turns to grass. Continue heading down the path, and once at the bottom look for two bridges, cross the one that's closest to where you entered.
