How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Located along a footpath, the cache represents the word 'Stone' in more ways than one. Strictly it is not in Stone but 'by Stone' as the area is known as Upper Hartwell.

The CO's user name also includes the word 'Stone' and as this village has been passed through on the way to and from work thousands of times since 1988, it seemed appropriate to have a cache there in recognition of this.

You are looking for a cache in appropriate surroundings. Please don't make too much noise as there are private residences adjacent. Also, return the container exactly where you find it. Road parking is usually available at either the end of Upper Hartwell (near to the A418) or in Cromhamstone.

geocaching.com states under 'Help Center' in Paragraph 1.7. Geocaching etiquette: 'We like to keep things fun for everyone, so we have a few rules we encourage everyone to follow. Sign both the logbook and log your find online to get your smiley. Geocache owners love reading about your experience'. There are more rules, but this is the first one. This cache owner requests that if on the rare occasion geocachers are unable to sign, an explanation is given in their log. A photo of the cache, if possible should then be sent through the messaging system.

Well done to JanAnt on being the FTF.
