Geocache Description:


Welcome to the old railway yards that were used both for the line that went to Wallaroo and to Balaklava and of course also brought goods from those two locations.This siding was very busy in its heyday as there was much transfering of bagged grain from the rolling stock onto Schooners that took this valuable commodity all over the world but mostly back to the mother country,England.
You are looking at a 5 Ton Crane,the same as so many others placed in railway yards across South Australia.There used to be a marine crane along the wharf but that has been removed and is awaiting restoration( potentially a cache down the track).
