Geocache Description:

The trail is rated easy and is a wide path through grassy areas.  The cache is approximately 100 feet from the trail in tall grass.  Insect repellant is highly recommended for hiking in this area of the park.  Use the Valley Trailhead parking area.



This traditional cache is located just off the Captain James Ball Trail.  The container is a standard size, clear plastic box.  The box contains a set of identification cards for trees and plants found near water sources; the park’s Tree-mendous Adventure collector cards; a log book and a pencil. The cache is approximately 150 feet from the trail in tall grass.

 Parking for the Captain James Ball trail is found at the Valley Trailhead.  The parking area is located along the Picnic Area road – a gravel road near the park entrance.  The parking area has room for approximately eight cars.  From the parking area, it is approximately 0.14 miles to the cache location.  Insect repellant is highly recommended for hiking in this area of the park, particularly in the summer and early fall.
