Geocache Description:

This is the eleventh of a series of 15 caches including a bonus, set out by some of the East Anglian GeoMobbers.

The route takes you on a 4.5 mile walk around Thetford Forest with a variety of different cache styles created by individual members of the EAGeoMobber forum.

The cache is not at the above coordinates

A full moon illuminates the landscape; a biting wind cuts through the trees; a huddle around a glowing fire…..

“The ground shook at the thundering approach of the raging Minotaur, striking terror in the inhabitants of the forest. Whilst in a clearing, the mighty Lamassu stood tall, scanning the tree-line for movement…..”

The fire flickers on the faces, transfixed by the words of the storyteller…

“From the south, flashes of fire lit up the dark wood, as the frenzied Chimera pursued its prey. Whilst in the distance the howls of Cerberus in tandem with Laelaps, menacing, discordant; all the time encouraged by the roar of Brontes, Steropes and Arges the Cyclopes. …..”

A sudden pause as the curdling shriek of an owl interrupts the night sound-scape; startled faces look to the storyteller, wide-eyed…

“The curious Money Frog scuttled through the low scrub, leaving no hole or crevice unexplored. Ahead, the formidable team of Phoenix and Manticore and strange Sciapod lay in wait for anything that broke cover…”

A temporary lull in the wind gives rise to a stark, eerie silence. The storyteller hesitates…

“No way through the hills, as Fluffy and the Basilisk closed any escape, snarling, descending. And the route by the river, dark and winding, laid siege by the terrifying Scylla and the Trojan Cetus. And then, from behind, a ferocious growl, echoing hauntingly, as Orthrus…..”

Arghhhhh! A loud spontaneous cry…then in unity, WHAT’S THAT COMING OUT OF THE WOODS…..IS IT A MONSTER?
