Street Lane is home to Adlington Manor, a care home with nursing facilities and at the west end of Street Lane, near to the A523, home to Adlington Equestrian Centre.
Set in 10 acres of gardens in beautiful parkland, Adlington Manor was originally built in the 1840s as a family house. In 1986 it was converted into a care home for older people and a purpose-built facility was added providing specialist care for residents with dementia, in total ~ 80 residents. Recently, Adlington Manor has undergone an extensive renovation program to ensure that it continues to provide an excellent home for its residents.
Adlington Equestrian Centre has been running for 12 years as a livery yard and competition centre. Combining superb facilities and excellent management, Adlington EC has become a popular and substantial livery yard, housing around 60 permanant stables. Adlington EC is a highly regarded competition venue, holding events ranging including dressage, show jumping, carriage driving and showing as well as being a popular venue for local riding clubs and pony clubs. The majority of events are run from October to April with the arenas available for hire during the week days and throughout the summer. A full range of show jumps and working hunter jumps are available for use within the arenas
Street Lane is normally fairly quiet to traffic, but does get busier during the morning and evening rush hours. So please be careful of passing motorists. All 5 cache locations on Street Lane can be done by parking near GZ, but you may prefer to park up and walk between the caches and admire the nice views. Whichever method you choose ....
