This cache is located in a site of Akama Shrine.
Approximately 820 years ago, two powerful clans ruled Japan.
At Kanmon Channel the final battle for supremacy over Japan took place between the Heike clan and the Genji clan.
Here at Akama Shrine people worship the last emperor Antoku of the Heike clan who lost the battle.
Even today, Akama Shrine has festivals which recall those days.

このキャッシュは、赤間神宮近辺にあります。
赤間神宮は、約820年前の源平壇ノ浦（だんのうら）の合戦でわずか8歳で入水された安徳天皇を祀っています。
境内には安徳天皇阿弥陀寺御陵、平家一門の墓、七盛塚（ななもりづか）、ラフカディオ・ハーン（小泉八雲）の怪談で有名な「耳なし芳一」の木像が祭られている芳一堂、「長門本平家物語」「源平合戦図」など貴重な資料のある宝物殿等があります。
5月3日には、上臈参拝（じょうろうさんぱい）で有名な先帝祭のメイン会場となります。
