This cache has been approved by Orange County Parks and Recreation. Gopher tortoises live in deep burrows that protect them from predators, fires and extreme temperatures. Over 350 other species may utilize these burrows. By protecting tortoise habitat, other species are indirectly protected as well. Look out for Gopher tortoises and their burrows as you hike to and from the Geocache!
The Preserve is open from 8am-6pm daily. Park at the Vera Carter Environmental Center and find the trailhead at the rear of the building. Take Pine Circle, Fallen Log Crossing and Osprey Overlook trails to your destination!
