Geocache Description:

This cahe is located on the grounds of an old park from the 1800's. Please park wisely as the trail head is located on the inside of a curve with fast moving traffic. There are places to pull over on the street right across from the entrance. (see additional waypoints)

There is a wide clear trail until a few meters before the cache.

The container has a pencil, sharpener and an eraser for anyone who forgot a pen.

History:
Woodward Springs was a popular recreational park during the 1800's and was privately owned from 1809 to 1881. Stimpson Woodward left the park to the City of Taunton in 1881 as a public park and "place of public resort forever.”

There have been failed attempts by volunteers to restore the park, but the name “Woodward Springs” has been set aside by the city in case the park makes comeback someday. To see pictures of what the park used to look like, click here
