This is an Easter egg hunt for spies. When you find the concealment labeled, OFFICIAL GEOCACHE, knock on it a few times with a stick to check for any wasps inside. I check for this myself and clear them out when needed but just in case.
The Great Spy Game continues with this dead drop placed in memory of Fabergé 117 who was captured by enemy agents during clandestine service.
This Cache is located in Bernheim Arboretum within 15 feet of an established trail as required by current Bernhein Geocaching regulations. Note: ALL Geocaches placed on Bernheim property must be approved by the Arboretum outdoor activity staff before placement. Parking is available close to the nearest trail head. Bring your own writing implement. This is the third cache in the Fabergé series.
Cache Series Sequence:
1st is series is Fabergé 001, GC38P84. Status: ACTIVE.
2nd in series is Fabergé 117, GC3HPZT. Status: ARCHIVED after being captured in clandestine service in 2012.

CAVEAT: If this is your first visit to Bernheim Arboretum, please note that the property covers 14,000 acres. This is NOT a cute city park with obvious boundary markings or fence lines. You are strongly encouraged to provision yourself with a water bottle, a whistle, extra GPS batteries, a map or maps, and a compass on a lanyard BEFORE you begin any hike here. The Bernheim Visitor Center - Gift Shop has free courtesy maps as well as detailed maps on sale. The out-and-back hiking distance for GC46XJT is about 3 miles (from the specified trail head.) Plan your mission accordingly.
Between 1842 and 1918, the House of Fabergé produced about a thousand elaborately jeweled Easter eggs for the Russian Czar. No two eggs were the same and no one knew before hand what the eggs would look like. (In this Easter egg hunt, the eggs WILL NOT be covered in gold and jewels.)
