Geocache Description:

It's time for the 11th Annual TAG CITO Event!

Groundspeak has officially proclaimed April 20th, 21st & 22nd, 2013 the 11th Annual Cache in Trash out Weekend and Tulsa Area Geocachers will again be participating in this world-wide effort.

Saturday, April 20th
9 am to 4 pm*
Oxley Nature Center, Mohawk Park in Tulsa

*You do not have to be here the entire time, but please plan on giving AT LEAST two hours of your time if you are planning on logging this event.

Holding these CITO events is our way of saying, "Thank you" to the Tulsa Parks system for allowing us to use their parks as our geocaching playground.  This year's CITO event will not focus as much on trash collection (but there will be trash out there to be picked up!). This year we will focus on trail building and improvements.  The Oxley Nature Center could use some new benches constructed along several of their trails and also are needing some new trails cut through the Mohawk Park woods.

Just remember:
1. You will get dirty.
2. You will get hot, thirsty and tired (if you are doing it right).
3. And you will absolutely have a blast doing it, I guarantee.

Arrive at 9 am for sign-in and marching instructions. We will break up into two groups, or more; Bench Building and Trail Cutting. Our HQ area in the Oxley Nature Center parking lot will be manned all day so latecomers can check in and be sent to work coordinates.

You will want to bring:
One or more pair of gloves, sunscreen, extra water, snacks, bug spray, poison ivy wash.
Battery operated drills, Post Hole diggers, shovels, wrenches, sledge hammers (you never know).
Chain saws, limb loppers, bow saws, hand clippers, rakes.
Your GPSr (don't get lost out there) 2-Way Radios (we are spreading out).
You may want a camera, too. Dirty cachers at work are very photogenic.

Tulsa Parks will be providing Bench-building materials and some other tools/supplies.  If you have any questions about what may be needed please contact Tulsa Parks directly through this link and feel free to post what you can bring for the cause on your "Will-Attend" log.

Mohawk Park's gates open at 7 am and close at 9 pm! On weekends, April 1 - October 31, you'll need to bring $2/vehicle to enter Mohawk Park, unless you are a member of Friends of Oxley Nature Center or Zoo Friends(or you come early). Pets are not allowed on the Nature Center trails, but leashed ones can enjoy other parts of Mohawk Park.

Those attending CITO Events like this one on April 20, 21 or 22 (or all three!) will earn a 2013 CITO Souvenir for their Geocaching profile.
