After what seems like an age; we decided it was time to go and hide the next cache in the Delta series. Continuing the theme, and after perusing the 'Trigpointing UK' site; we were pulled in the direction of Morgan's Hill.
The current modern masts are close to the original site where masts were erected sometime before WW1 as part of a chain, or network, of radio receiving stations - the Imperial Wireless Chain. Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company and the General Post Office agreed to convert the - then redundant - station in 1920 for maritime shipping use and installed a receiver and a 6 kilowatt valve transmitter in early 1920.
Station GKT, as it was known, had a range of some 1,500 miles!
Once again; the trig point isn't too far away from GZ! It is probably a good idea to visit it soon as it is rapidly making its way underground as rabbit's continue to undermine its foundations!
You are looking for a small tubular cache in the statutory camouflaged bag.
We decided on this theme because, from their very nature, there would have been excellent views in at least two different directions some 75 years ago when the trig-points close-by were first placed.
