This cache has been archived.

Orlando's Rat: I can no longer cache due to physical health problems and medical advice to continue to shield. So I'm archiving this cache. Thank you to everone who visited and logged a find (or a DNF).

Hopefully someone else will fill the void left by this archiving.

Geocache Description:

You are looking for a 60ml screw top container.

When Mrs Rat and I bought our first home together it was in St Georges Road. A work colleague of her's asked if we were near the church. Mrs Rat answered "no" as she didn't remember seeing the church. Her colleague then suggested that we were at the other end of the road. When she got home she saw this large church, almost directly opposite our new home. Despite living extremely close to this church for 17 years we never ventured inside.

The church itself is built on a north-south line, traditionally churches have an east-west direction. It was opened in July 1868 in an area that was mainly cattle pasture, orchards and smallholdings. There was two windmills a few 100 yards away to the east, where Navarino Road is now. Originally there was only a few homes in the area, however, following WWI developers built on all of the land until only a few green spaces remained.

This Church was originally a Church Micro for WellWed, however, after being muggled a number of times they decided to archive it. I'm hoping that by making it a multi and placing the cache in a different location I will have more luck.

Parking is restricted to help residents find a space. Parking is possible but Worthing parking attendants can quick to slap the parking fine on your car. If you arrive during the restricted hours you are at risk of receiving a ticket. I strongly advise you check the notices before leaving the your car.

The published coordinates are for the entrance to the church hall, next to the church (south). Built into the wall of the hall is a stone with a date inscribed . Take the year of this date as ABCD. Using these numbers apply them to the following:

N50 48.(B-A) D (B-4) W000 21.D (C*2-1)(C*2)

Previous caches have been muggled so I have moved the location of the cache to a new position. The cache itself is not too far away.

Congratulations to Mattd2k for the FTF!
