Geocache Description:

Named for my very first find in Altoona, Iowa back in 2009.  The Milkman placed that cache near a set of half pipes too.  Thanks for the idea Milkman.. CONGRATULATIONS TO LODIDODGER ON FTF AND BERKELEYBOOMERS ON STF

I served in the US Navy and this was my first duty station.  I worked out at the base gym located on this very spot.  I also kept time and score for tournament basketball games here back in 1988-1991..  When Slick Willy closed this base along with a series of bases, it was a very sad moment for the west coast. I hold a high amount of respect for our troops and men and women in uniform. Thanks to all veterans who have served, we have our freedom.  Happy Caching... Bring your skates and roller blades. IF YOU SEE SECURITY, THEY SEEM TO ABUSE THIER PLASTIC BADGE. THEY ARE SCARRED OF PEOPLE THAT LOOK OUT OF PLACE, ( EVEN AT GEOWOODSTOCK, WE GEOCACHERS LOOK OUT OF PLACE.) SO THEIR PAT STATEMENT IS: "THIS AREA IS CLOSED" ASK THEM FOR A PRINTED OR POSTED HOURS DOCUMENT. BE POLITE BUT CALL THEIR BLUFF ....
