*Edit 11/8/17* I moved a couple of years back and I had someone maintaining it but this is no longer the case. If you are interested in taking this role over please contact me, otherwise I will have to take this one down. Safe travels!
I ran into this site while searching for Scrapman and GaPatsi21's cache nearby. What a great park, the trails are in really good condition and you may see some bunny rabbits along the way. It is a nice walk along the Hillsborough River and should take about 10 minutes to reach the cache site from the parking lot...if you navigate correctly. I would recommend going in the daylight, if you do go at night bring a flashlight.
There is no bushwhacking required while searching, however, you should be mindful of misquitos and other critters. There has been sightings of gators by the river so please be alert and watch for things that may sting or bite.
You are searching for a chrome matchbox hanging at about knee level. The cache site is found by following a "viney" path off the main trail, a log at this trailhead will greet you, you will know instantly once you're in the right place. Look for a tall "hairy" cypress tree. After rains this area could get a little mushy, so you may need your caching boots! Please make sure that the cache is properly closed and re-sealed as this is waterproof when properly closed. Also, please do not remove string that cache is clipped onto, unclip cache from string. No pen in cache just a log sheet, please BYOP.
It would be great if you could bring a trash bag with you and pick up some pieces along the way. This site seems to be popular with the neighborhood kids after park hours - anything would help! Thanks and have fun caching! Congrats to Scrapman & GaPatci21 on the FTF!
