Geocache Description:

Cedar Elm is the most widespread of the native Elms and it's leaves are the smallest of all the Texas Elms.  Elm wood is used to make furniture, boats, coffins and oil from the inner bark is used in cough medicine.  Indians used to live off of elm by making canoes, ropes and utensils, fueling fires and crafting clothing.(TAMU NTPD)  One Elm planted in an urban environment is equivalent to five air conditioning units.

Cache is located just a short walk through the undeveloped back of  Chisenhall Park, behind the  ball fields. Parking is convenient,  but cross over the creek on the weir on foot.   No need to fight briars, just follow the natural path, and take the time to enjoy the area.  Cedar Elm are in abundance in this area but not the only tree that provides habitat for many types of wildlife.   Cache is a small container with room for trade items.  Bring a pen
