Geocache Description:

This is the Sandridge Cemetery. This cemetery was established in 1848 with the oldest marked grave belonging to Allie Scott who died Apr. 1, 1897. This cemetery was started as an African American cemetery here in Nacogdoches County. It is located just East of the Sandridge Baptist Church that was rebuilt in 1951 at its current location. There are a surprising number of Military head and foot stones in this little cemetery. While your hunting this cache take a moment to reflect on those members that served this country, and at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including my life."
As with ALL cemeteries in Nacogdoches County it is ILLEGAL to be in them after sunset. You can be given as little as a criminal trespass warning, or be ticketed and taken to jail for trespassing in a Cemetary after dark. Please only hunt this during daylight hours!
