Geocache Description:

A quick and easy park and Grab; on Willis road at Sarah Richardson park, off of US-23 at Exit 31. Placed with permission of the York Township parks and rec.

DO NOT TRY TO PRY THE DOOR!!!

This is a replica of the actual fire barn located in downtown Milan, MI just 5 miles due south of the park

You're looking for a nicely constructed wooden barn with a large container inside that has room for many travelbugs and swag. This is intended to be a trackable exchange so if you are in need of swapping out TB's or dropping off any that you've had too long, then stop by. I would love for this to be a major travelbug exchange point! Bushwacking should be minimal even in the summer. After making your find, if you have the time, take a long walk through the trails of Sarah Richardson park. The park is well maintained and deserves a look, so enjoy. Please leave the Fire Barn as you found it. Pictures are welcomed, so post photos for the fabricator and cache owner. If there are any issues with the container, let me know and I will address them as soon as I can.

The Milan Fire Barn & Trackable Exchange was concieved after I fell in love with a similar geocache (St. Johns Chapel GC36BJA) by fellow geocachers "Dave & Mary". Dave constructed the barn out of raw materials and Mary provided the wonderful exterior paint job. The construction took 2 months in total. Thanks to "Dave & Mary" for a fantastic geocache!
UPDATE!!!
Repairs were made in the winter and spring of 2016 which took a bit longer than anticipated and was relaunched in July 2016. A new door and left side panel were replaced, new paint applied to the barn throughout and the addition of a combination lock was placed on the barn.

UPDATE!!!
A full restoration was completed in 2019 and relaunched back into the wild. All efforts by the CO and the caching community should help keep the barn in great shape for the foreseeable future. Please provide some TLC if need be or able to which will help avoid having to perform a rebuild or extensive repairs.
