En kvikk stopp på vei over fjellet

A quick stop on your way adross the mountain

View of Velledalen and Drotninghaug farm.
Drotninghaug, bare et ubetydelig veikryss for mange, men likevel et knutepunkt for trafikken over strandafjellet og for trafikken til Fjellseter og Fausadal.
Krysset har fått navnet sitt etter gården Drotninghaug som ligger ca 700 meter lenger nede mot Sykkylven.
Navnet Drotninghaug er man ikke helt sikker på opphavet til. I Hans Strøm sin ”Beskrivelse over Søndmør” frå 1700-talet, skriver han at navnet kan komme av den gode drott (avling) som gården gir. Ingen spennende historier om dronninger dessverre.
Gården blir drevet økologisk.

Drotninghaug, justa insignificant roadcrossing, but nevertheless a road hub for the traffic across Strandafjellet (Stranda Mountain) and for the treffic to Fjellseter and Fausadal.
The roadcrossing has its name from the farm Drotninghaug which is locatged about 700 meters down the road in the direction of Sykkylven.
The origin of the name Drotninghaug is unclear, but in Hans Strøm's "Beskrivelse av Søndmør" ("Description of Sunnmøre") he mentions that the name can have been derived from the good crop (drot in older norwegian) the farm produces. Sorry, no stories about queens (Drotning ->dronning=queen).
The farm is run øcologically.

The cache is small, bring your own pen, and OBS! OBS! rMake sure you place the bopx in the fitting it can be wedged into!....
