Geocache Description:

This is our first cache and should be a very quick grab. There was a pencil when it was first put together, but as always, bring along a pen just in case. Please comment on the condition of the cache if possible, as we are not locally in the area and would need to arrange for someone to do any necessary maintenance.

Surrounding the area where the cache is located are a few historic buildings.  The B&B on the corner served as a Post and Telegraph building and was built in 1887.  It is highly recommended by travellers and serves a gourmet quality breakfast.

Another building, St John’s church, is one of two churches in the present grounds.  The first was a wooden structure, used as both a church and a church school.   By 1886 it had become no longer serviceable and, in 1890, work began on a new brick and stone building alongside the old one.  It is a now registered heritage building.  The stained glass east window, depicting Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" was installed in 1970 at a cost of $574. **** FTF honours goes to Morley196 ****
